In light of the recent increase in the number of confirmed and suspected Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) infection cases, a number of our NGO partners have had to postponed/ cancel their service programs in the coming weeks and notified volunteers via email/ phone. Please contact the organizing NGO directly if you are unsure whether you are required to attend the service.
The health and safety of our volunteers and service recipients is our top priority. We appreciate your support at this challenging time for our NGO partners and the vulnerable groups in the city. Besides participating in service programs, you can initiate projects that serve the community and also recruit more help through SC. We will try our best to support and help to make contact with potential collaborating organizations. Click here to contact us and share your ideas!
Finally, here below the health and safety tips on how to prevent pneumonia and respiratory tract infection. Take the precautions to protect yourself and the people around you during service.
- Please wear a surgical mask during the service program. It is important to wear a mask properly – please see the link here for CHP guidance on how to do this.
- Please also practice proper hand hygiene before wearing and after removing a mask. If washing facilities are not available, performing hand hygiene with hand sanitizer is an effective alternative.
- Consult a doctor promptly if you are experiencing a fever or other symptoms. We strongly recommended you should NOT attend any service program and inform the organizing NGO.
- If you/family members have been in Hubei province in the past month, please be advised to implement self-isolation for 14 days. And kindly inform the organizing NGO that you are not able to attend the service program.
